As the European Union Projects Advisor, I’m happy to witness this inspiring collaboration between Istanbul Technical University students and Kadir Has Primary school children.
The BlueLightS Project, implemented with the enthusiastic involvement of Kadir Has Primary School and the dedicated support of students from Istanbul Technical University, has come to a successful close🌿
In this EU-funded project, students first met each other by the sea, where they carried out a meaningful beach clean-up activity—learning about pollution, sustainability, and responsibility in action.
Back at school, they sorted the collected marine waste and, through creative upcycling, turned it into board games and imaginative installations. Guided by ITU students from architecture and engineering departments, the children gave shape to their dreams, designing spaces and stories rooted in environmental awareness and play.
This process was not just about learning—it was about co-creating, supporting one another, and discovering the joy of transforming problems into possibilities.
I congratulate the Principal,Ahmet Yılmaz , the entire school’s administration team, passionate teachers, and—above all—the curious, inventive students of Kadir Has Primary School for completing this European Union journey with dedication, teamwork, and creativity.
